Evolving the Brand to Amplify Outreach in Conservation, Education, and Research

The Duke Lemur Center's revamped brand identity captures the essence of its mission with a modern and sophisticated touch. At the heart of this identity is a logo featuring the iconic ring-tail lemur. The color palette draws inspiration from both Duke University's blue and the warm yellow hue of lemurs' eyes, creating a harmonious fusion that symbolizes the connection between academic rigor and the captivating nature of lemurs.

Crosswalks are transformed to depict the declining lemur population in the wild. This large-scale, innovative project meets people where they are to raise public awareness during their daily commutes. A bold visual and impactful statistics emphasize the urgency of lemur conservation, inspire collective responsibility, and ultimately highlights the critical work being done at the Duke Lemur Center.

Turning renovation into engagement throughout Duke University 

This graphic cleverly leverages blank space that would normally exist in the course of on-campus construction work to highlight the dire circumstances for wild lemur populations. The primary image and messaging convey the need for action, while the accompanying side panel provides context and invites viewers to access more information via QR code.
